Presentation Synopsis:

Alasdair Allan

Raspberry PI

Alasdair Allan is a scientist, author, maker, and journalist. He currently works for Raspberry Pi, and is in charge of writing things down. He is somewhat notorious for causing one of the first big mobile privacy scandals, which eventually became known as “locationgate.” A former astronomer, he also built a peer-to-peer network of autonomous, reactive telescopes; and contributed to the detection of what — at the time — was the most distant object yet discovered in the Universe.

“Putting a Raspberry Pi inside and into orbit”

Raspberry Pi hardware is available off the shelf. Our microcontrollers and computers are affordable, extremely reliable, and performant; and as a growing number of missions make use of our hardware, we are now accumulating a solid flight heritage. As well as looking at some previous missions and studies we’re going to talk about recent developments and changes to our line up, and give you some pointers on where to get help with Raspberry Pi boards and microcontrollers, as well as compliance and testing data.
