Presentation Synopsis:

Catalin Chelmus

2Space team leader

Catalin is  22 years old and is student at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at POLITEHNICA Bucharest. He started working at spacemodels in 2012 as a passion, but in 2013 he ended being part from the Romanian National Rocketry Team and from then until now he became an international champion at various rocketry contests.

He has been the Team Leader of the 2SPACE team for 2 years, first romanian student rocketry team, competing in international contests and making experimental sounding rockets.

This year, he managed to organise the second edition of the first ever PocketQube satellites competition in the world for highschoolers,  which brought together over 100 participants and professors from 3 countries, at the final the best 3 of the satellites will fly our next rocket Project LUNA.

“QUBE2SPACE - First PocketQubes Competition for Highschoolers - Expanding Possibilities for Engaging in STEM”

QUBE2SPACE was designed as a competition to raise awarness on how important it is for young pupils to understand the spacefild of satellites. The team considers that it is important to combine technology and education in order to have better results with the highschoolers and for them to understand better everything that happens in this field.
