JOSE A. ALMENARA. ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING REPRESENTATIVE, CRP TECHNOLOGY
Jose Antonio began his career in 2007 as a consultant for the F1 Scuderia Ferrari team. Since 2014 he has worked for several engineering companies in the field of international business development. He currently collaborates with CRP Technology for the development of new technologies and materials in the field of additive manufacturing.
Presentation Synopsis:
‘Composite Additive Materials for NanoSats’ manufacturing’
In the last few years 3D printing technology has reached new heights with the manufacture of structural components for the new generation of Space parts and structures. Scientists and engineers have obtained uniqueness results by using high performance composite materials, especially in the field of PocketQubes and CubeSats.
This paper will be presenting the challenges related to making nanosatellite (PocketQubes and CubeSats) missions successful; the advantages of using 3D Printing and composite Carbon or Glass-reinforced materials for the construction of nano-satellites structures; pros, cons and design considerations will be discussed. We will also be sharing an overview of some space missions that marked a new milestone in the small 3D printed satellite arena.
