Presentation Synopsis:
“A REAL CHIP SATELLITE (AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR POCKETQUBES)”
SPHERICAL is designing satellite systems at the semiconductor level to rapidly advance the miniaturisation and performance of spacecraft. We will present our Ada satellite which is a technology demonstrator of a satellite with body dimensions of only 23 x 8 x 7 mm. The satellite contains power conversion, computation and communication. This work can be considered a pathfinder to practical gram-scale satellites. The Ada satellite is scheduled to be assembled and tested by the end of 2023.
The presentation provides an overview of the technology that makes this possible. We will then discuss the roadmap to utilising this technology in the PocketQube form factor and explore the new capabilities this will offer.
